[College News] Our Institution Conducted the 'Six Visits, Six Promotions' Activity at the School of Microelectronics, Sun Yat-sen University

On April 12th, Wang Tao, the Dean of the International School of Materials Science and Engineering, along with Yan Kui, the Party Secretary, and Chen Fei, the Vice Dean, led a delegation to visit the School of Electronic and Information Engineering (School of Microelectronics) at Sun Yat-sen University for the "Six Visits, Six Promotions" activity. Our delegation were welcomed by She Juncong, the Dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering (School of Microelectronics) at Sun Yat-sen University, along with Chen Jun, the Executive Dean, Liu Chuan, the Dean's Assistant, Guo Jianping, the Director of the Microelectronics Science and Engineering Teaching and Research Office, and Chen Xiang, the Deputy Director of the Electronic and Information Engineering Experimental Teaching Center.



Both sides engaged in a fruitful discussion in the meeting. She Juncong, the Dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering (School of Microelectronics) at Zhongshan University, presented an overview of the college, including its disciplinary history, faculty team, research platforms, training system, and teaching achievements. Wang Tao, the Dean of our school, shared the development process, educational positioning, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in talent cultivation. He expressed the hope that through this exchange both parties can deeply cooperate in talent cultivation, scientific research, and industry-academia-research platform building. The discussion revolved around topics such as the construction of teaching and training bases, international exchange and collaboration, and the industry-academia practice model.

After the meeting, our delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technology at Zhongshan University. They also had a field observation of the layout and operation of the undergraduate competition clubs, the open laboratory for electronic and information engineering, and the microelectronics process laboratory.



For mutual progress and innovation, both sides took this filed trip as an opportunity to broaden the horizon of school development and academic construction. The collaborations between the two schools will be deepened since they have commitment to creating a hub for scientific innovation and contributions will be made as they are working on the path to build a technologically strong China.
